Review (by Malcolm Storey)

"Baby Stace" - a cut down version of the second edition of "New Flora of the British Isles" ("Posh Stace") by the same author.

Weighs in at 475 gms, compared to 1530 for Posh Stace (or 1210 for CTM).

The species descriptions have been removed and the family descriptions shortened to make the larger flora more portable. Most of the figures have also been taken out. Personally, I find this makes it harder to use and it really works best as a memory jog for the plants you already know.

Unaccountably the rarity codes have been removed so you won’t know if it’s a protected species until you get home…

Examinein the hand in the Hand ( with x8 or x10 hand lens is also useful)
Identification difficultyJust keys, so there are no descriptions to provide confirmation.
