Review (by Malcolm Storey)

There are few books on Rotifers and this provides readable introductory account.

The identification section starts on page 50 with a polychotomous key to 79 genera (check how many alternatives there are at each step!) Each genus is illustrated on pages 61-64, and even without using the key, a quick flick through the pages will place many of the more distinctive forms. Figs 1-79 show females, 80-88 show males.

Identification to species is outside the realm of this little book.
