Review (by Malcolm Storey)

A nice modern treatment of our Xerocomus species. These are the most challenging group of Boletes - most of them have long been lumped in Boletus subtomentosus or B. chrysenteron.

Identification is by means of a synoptic key, backed up by descriptions and photographs.

Specimen PreparationNote the colour of the basal mycelium at time of collection. Spore size and shape also required.
