Review (by Malcolm Storey)

Lyme Disease is a very common disease which threatens all of us who use or work in our countryside.

The web-site includes a page on removing ticks and sells tick removers for human use (not the huge things that vets supply for removing engorged ticks from dogs.)

This is the lobby group for Lyme Disease. As such it is sometimes considered outspoken, but then the medical profession is unaccountably silent for such a major and growing threat to the nation’s wellbeing. (My evidence for "major and growing threat" is simply the number of field naturalists I’ve met who have suffered from the disease in the last five years - about 5-10% of my friends. If you want more accurate figures ask the National Trust or Forestry Commission how many cases per year they get in their workforce.)
