| Review (by Malcolm Storey) | An AFLP analysis of 18 British populations of Gentianella germanica, G. campestris, G. amarella, G. anglica and their presumd hybrids. It showed only three species: G. germanica, G. campestris and "G. amarella" (This latter included G. anglica and the hybrids). AFLP is a robust and reliable technique so it seems that Gentianella isn’t as "difficult" as botanists have made it! |
