Review (by Malcolm Storey) | This handbook, the fourth on the group, completes the coverage of Auchenorhyncha. Keys are presented to tribes, genera and species. The species accounts in most cases include lengthy morphological descriptions to give more confidence in identifications. Many of the species are associated with a particular plant or plants and these are also mentioned. Species associated with each plant are listed on p36, with trees listed under their English names and low plants under their scientific names. Less certain records are in parentheses. This is followed by a checklist of the British Auchenorhyncha, the references, the illustrations and the index. |
