Review (by Malcolm Storey) | "Contains 170 high-quality color photographs of live specimens and distribution maps Contains 200 tables that allows the reader speedy access to precise data Provides complete life-cycle information on insect species Presents the techniques for proper extraction of human DNA from insects Includes detailed references for the identification and dating of insects commonly found around human remains." An academic title with a USA focus. If Grissom is your role model, then this is the book for your studies! But don’t pin your hopes on a career in forensic entomology. Continued budget cuts mean that UK police forces rarely go beyond DNA testing which is now so cheap. And it won’t help you plan the perfect murder, cos nobody’s even going to find the body, right? |
