Review (by Malcolm Storey) | FRDBI (previously BMSFRD) is the largest national database of records of fungi from Britain and Ireland, including many abstracted from the literature. It feeds into NBN and includes links to NBN distribution maps. The site includes nearly 200 keys to genera (many of them lichens). Based on a checklist of fungal names recorded from Britain and Ireland including "all" synonyms used in British mycological literature, or literature used by British mycologists. By its nature this includes many questionable taxa which have been recorded only once or a few times and never verified. |
