Most carrion-feeders can be expected to survive on the abundant wildlife casualties on roads, and on carcasses washed-up on the sea shore. However, there are one or two keratinophilic fungi which grow on the horns of dead cattle, sheep or goat. Even the horns are now very rarely encountered.
