Review (by Malcolm Storey) | Terellia fuscicornis appears to consist of two distinct populations, one adapted to Artichoke and another to Milk Thistle. The flies on Artichoke are larger than those on Milk Thistle. The Artichoke females also had a longer aculeus, as befits an insect ovipositing in a larger capitulum. Further work is required to establish how far they are along the road to speciation. |
