Review (by Malcolm Storey)

The 8th volume in the series and the longest title yet!

This work covers several genera which have little in common beyond amyloid spores and/or xeruloid fruitbodies, but this is actually quite a useful selection and includes a number of little kown taxa. It includes all genera which contain one or more members falling within the above definition.

There is no key to families, but the non-Tricholomataceae genera are easily recognised and well known. Most taxa covered fall within Tricholomataceae. Each family begins with a key to genera, followed by generic keys with detailed species descriptions.
