Review (by Malcolm Storey)Keys to the entire European bryophyte and pteridophyte flora in a single, 500-page volume - hardly surprisingly there are no species accounts! But there are copious drawings and alternative keys for some groups, and each species entry decribes its status on Britain and Ireland.
Examine Compound Microscope ( Stereo Microscope is also useful)
Specimen PreparationMost bryophytes require microscopic examination of leaf shape and cell structure. Pteridophytes can largely be identified on sight, perhaps with the aid of a hand lens.
