This sawfly is locally comrnon S. of the Wash/Severn line in England, but extends N. to Roxburgh, Berwick and Lanark in Scotland and even to the Orkneys. The larvae feed on Rubus caesius etc. Flight period: V-VI in S. but VIII-IX in Orkneys.
